Дед Мороз (
Ded Moroz) aka Father Frost aka Father Christmas is the analog to Santa Claus in Russia and Eastern Europe.
Unlike Santa, he is more active during New Years festivities which last for 1 week in Russia. And he also doesn't sneak around hopping from roof to roof but instead delivers gifts in person and has a sidekick who goes by the name of

Just about the time when Father Frost would be paying us a visit, we got hit with a pretty good storm here in New England. The high winds left some nice snow formations. But now, alas, the warm weather came and melted it all away :(
It's during a storm like this that I wish for one of
these.
