Here's the scoop on the origins of this blog's name. It's a play on the old idiom "a penny for your thoughts". One night I forced a few of my family members to brainstorm ideas for blog names and we started listing Russian foods. We soon came upon the ubiquitous pickle, a much loved vegetable in both America and Russia. And soon after followed the phrase "a penny for your thoughts" which means to voice your opinion or to chime in on a discussion. I don't think a better name exists!
[Be sure to picture a proper British gentleman, with monocle in place, saying it "A penny for your thoughts, gov'ner?" It's a lot more fun that way.]
